The device is in permanent use. It remains to be seen how much regeneration salt we use. We had very hard water (18°). We are currently cleaning our pipes and have set it to 0° WH. There is enough test liquid included in the scope of delivery to determine the degree of hardness. We can recommend the device to anyone who wants to reduce their water hardness.
