Corrosion and limescale protection with a dosing system

Limescale deposits often form throughout the entire pipe system of the domestic water installation. Hot water pipes, hot water boilers and household appliances are particularly at risk. The result is blockages, incrustations and costly malfunctions. In areas with very high water hardness (over 25° dH), decalcification using a softening system can only be carried out to a certain extent, otherwise the sodium load would rise too high and would no longer comply with the drinking water regulations. Here the dosing system helps to stabilize the remaining lime.

Further dangers with expensive consequences arise from corrosion in the pipes caused by free carbon dioxide and oxygen in the drinking water. This phenomenon occurs increasingly in so-called mixed installations and galvanized pipelines. It is always important to use a water filter to protect against sand and metal particles.

To solve these problems, the precise dosage of small amounts of liquid phosphate and silicate compounds has proven to be very effective. The addition of these compounds should be done precisely so that the values permitted by the Drinking Water Ordinance are strictly adhered to.

The FILTRADOS dosing pumps consist of a membrane dosing pump with electronic contact signal control, built on a contact water meter. Depending on the size of the water meter, 1 pulse occurs for 1 or 2 liters of water flow. The pump part makes a dosing stroke with a precisely defined amount per pulse (adjustable). Each dosage is indicated by an indicator light.

The drive of the dosing device is an overload-proof, low-noise synchronous motor that switches off if the back pressure is too high (pressure surges) and restarts automatically when the pressure drops. The dosing pump for venting the dosing head can be kept in continuous operation using a push button.

An empty signaling device is combined with the suction line. The storage container for the dosing medium is placed on the floor directly under the FILTRADOS device. If the container is emptied, the pump switches off automatically and the indicator light on the front panel of the pump lights up red. After changing the container or filling the container, the pump automatically starts operating again.
