Which salt do I have to use for my softening system?

When purchasing salt for a softening system, please pay attention to the following properties:

• Name: Regenerating salt for water treatment systems
• Form: tablet form
• made from pure evaporated salt
• Required standards: EN 973A (DIN 19604)
• Quality standards according to ISO 9001:2000

How often does the salt need to be refilled?

How often the salt needs to be refilled in a softening system depends on three factors: the salt consumption of the softening system, your water consumption and your water hardness. In a single-family home with 4 people and a water hardness of 20 °dH, you have to top up the salt about every 8 weeks. You should always top up the salt when the water is visible in the salt container and not before, otherwise clumping can occur.

Important: The softening system should never be operated without salt.

How much salt can be filled?

Please refer to the relevant data sheet or the following table regarding the filling quantities and please do not fill in more salt than stated:

Where is the salt put?

For BASIC systems, please remove the blue cover and the octagonal lid underneath. Pour the salt into the large opening shown. For DUPLEX systems, remove the blue lid of the salt container and fill in the salt there.
