PH value
The pH value indicates whether a substance is acidic or basic. The range of values is from 0 to 14 and is given without a unit. A pH value of 7 is called neutral. All values below this are acidic and everything above 7 is called basic. The pH value of drinking water is usually between 7.0 and 8.5. According to the drinking water regulations, the value can range between 6.5 and 9.5.
