Drinking water

Any water can only be described as drinking water if it complies with the Drinking Water Ordinance. The Drinking Water Ordinance refers to water consumed by people or used for physical cleansing as well as water that is used for food production or generally comes into contact with food.

The general rule is that the water should not contain any pathogens, dirt particles or substances that are hazardous to health and should contain as few bacteria, iron and nitrate as possible. There are legal limit values that must be strictly adhered to. As a rule, these are also taken into account by sewage treatment plants, but contamination can occur in the pipes on the way to the building or well.

Depending on the type of contamination, there are numerous water treatment methods available for drinking water treatment. If the iron or nitrate content is too high, a denitration or iron removal system, for example, is ideal. A powerful filter system or a reverse osmosis system is best suited to filter out medical residues, bacteria, viruses and dirt.
