A water softening system is worthwhile for water hardness in the medium range, i.e. from 8.4 °dH (see table).
How is high water hardness noticeable?
- Limescale deposits in the bathroom are clearly visible
- Appliances such as washing machines will be affected much more quickly by high levels of limescale
- A higher dosage of detergent is required than with soft water
- The taste of drinks made with water is not as intense and pure
- Limescale deposits form on areas that are not immediately visible, such as the pipes and inside the hot water boiler
Can I determine the water hardness myself?
Yes, it is possible and not difficult. We have already put together a detailed explanation for this
Is it worth it from a financial perspective?
Of course, the system has to pay for itself first, but the purchase is worth it.
We also have a very interesting calculation about this in our support area.
