Xenobiotics

Xenobiotics are chemical compounds that do not occur naturally in the body or the environment, but are introduced from outside. These include many industrial chemicals, pesticides, medicines and other synthetic substances. Xenobiotics can enter water through wastewater, agricultural use or industrial processes. These substances can be potentially harmful to health because they are often difficult to biodegrade and can be toxic in high concentrations.

The removal of xenobiotics from water is achieved through various treatment techniques. Activated carbon filters , reverse osmosis systems and UV disinfection systems are particularly effective in reducing xenobiotics. Advanced biological filter systems can also help to break down these substances. These technologies are used in modern water treatment plants to ensure that the water remains clean and safe for health.
