A backwash filter should generally be present in every installation. This filters sediments and solids from the drinking water. If you don't have a pre-filter yet, please order one at the same time.

This water treatment system works with the ion exchange process. This means that salt is required to operate. How much salt the system needs depends on the water consumption and water hardness. You can calculate your salt consumption using our online calculator.

PENTA Multi-Filter System: One Filter – Five Solutions

The Penta multi-filter system is particularly suitable for well water. For example, for single-family homes or small consumers.

Total hardness, dissolved iron, dissolved manganese, organics and ammonium - the ALFILTRA Penta multi-filter system can remove all of this at the same time. This fully automatic, single-column multi-filter system with electronic, water-quantity-controlled control valve CLACK WS1 is simply installed in front of your existing water network. The system removes iron, manganese, organics, ammonium and water hardness using the proven ion exchange process.

When the capacity is exhausted, the system regenerates itself automatically using the salt supply. An integrated safety float valve protects the salt container from overflow and the glass fiber reinforced pressure tank can withstand pressure surges of up to 16 bar.

Scope of delivery:

Please note: This system is supplied without connecting parts and without a waste water hose. You can find these above under accessories. There you will also find an assembly service if you require it. The system can pump waste water to a height of up to 2 m. The use of a backwash filter is recommended in order not to damage the iron filter system.

* No-Hardwater-Bypass: The No-Hardwater-Bypass ensures that the water supply is interrupted during regeneration. Regeneration takes about an hour. If an uninterrupted water supply is required, we recommend the Penta Duplex Multi-Filter system.

The resin in this filter system is designed for a pH range of 5 to 9, meaning it should work even at a pH of 6, where the water is slightly acidic.

However, you should note that although the resin can work in this pH range, slightly acidic water (pH 6) is not ideal for use as drinking water. In the long term, acidic water can cause corrosion in pipes and affect the taste of the water.

If you plan to use the filtered water as drinking water, it is recommended to also install a deacidification system. Such a system can increase the pH of the water and make it more neutral, which is not only beneficial for iron filtration but also improves the quality of drinking water and protects your plumbing.

Our iron removal system works on the principle of ion exchange. Iron and manganese ions in the water are replaced by sodium ions. The water flows through a special resin in the system, which binds the unwanted ions and simultaneously releases sodium ions. In this way, the iron is effectively removed from the water and the water quality is improved. After a certain amount of water has flowed through, the resin regenerates itself by rinsing with a salt solution so that it is ready for use again.

The filter system must be frost-free as it does not have integrated frost protection. Frost damage can damage the system and impair its function. The system should therefore be installed in a heated or well-insulated area to avoid frost damage.

Basically, the PENTA multi-filter system needs enough space so that the control valve can be easily operated and the salt container can be easily accessed. Installation in the well shaft is therefore probably not ideal, as the limited space could make maintenance and operation of the system difficult. It is recommended that the system be installed above the well shaft, where there is sufficient space.
